Who are we? - EduCrateEduCrate

Who are we?

We’re an extremely ambitious group of individuals at EduCrate and have only been working together since November 2015. In that time, we have managed to ship two crates full of educational resources to our pilot project school in Nairobi and raised nearly £2,500. We have secured corporate sponsorship from local businesses, for the first 6 crates and have run five sold out fundraisers in Brighton. We have created a bespoke volunteer platform via facebook and recently one of our volunteers joined the charity more officially, as a member of the trustee board.

We are applying for funding through trusts and sponsors and hope to be registered by 2017.

We all currently work full time and meet just once per week. We need lots more advice and assistance from expert organisations to help us progress, we also need at least two more trustees to come on board.

Jemma has loved working in education across many different roles the past five years. She currently teaches Geography and dreams of taking her educational experience abroad to change the lives of students living in poverty. Jemma uses her passion for educational equality to drive EduCrate and ensure the charity can one day work in Asia, South America and expand into more countries in Africa.

'The amount of educational surplus in UK schools is truly shocking. EduCrate promotes my values and recycles resources to those who can most benefit from them. It is an honour to watch grow.'
